Position Overview
This position is fully funded by sponsored funds, and is a short-term position that will provide training to Minnesota social workers.
The Community Trainer position (Temp/Casual, 0001) is a University employee positioned in the Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare (CASCW) at the School of Social Work. CASCW has joined the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) in a joint project to co-create and operate the Minnesota Child Welfare Training Academy (MNCWTA). The Community Trainer serves as a critical member of the integrated teams of DCYF and the University.
Trainers are hired to train curriculum in alignment with the Minnesota Child Welfare framework for competent child welfare practice. Trainers hired are expected to deliver content as outlined in the specified curriculum. Training sessions will be delivered based on county and tribal training needs. In some cases, classes are held over Zoom, using your personal technology. Typically training schedules are set six months in advance.
