Open Rank Faculty, Tenure Track Position: Ceramic Engineering

Requirements:

The Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University invites applications for an open rank tenure/tenure-track faculty appointments in Ceramic Engineering. The candidates must hold a PhD in Ceramic Engineering or a closely related field. The successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research program and a high-quality teaching portfolio. 

Founded: 1836, with inclusion from the start! One of the first coeducational institutions in the United States. Type of institution: Private, non-sectarian, with state-sponsored programs in engineering and art and design. Location: Alfred, New York, a village in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains about an hour west of Coming, an hour and a half south of Rochester and two hours from Buffalo. Students: About 1,600 undergraduates and nearly 150 graduate students from 43 states and 16 countries attend full-time on the Alfred campus. We have approximately 90 additional part-time graduate students on the Alfred, NY campus, and 475 graduate students enrolled in our AUNY NYC-metro area programs. Campus: 232 acre  campus with more than 50 academic and residential buildings. Residential, student-centered, vibrant living/learning community. Plus another 400 acres of nearby recreational land. The School of Engineering is home to the New York State College of Ceramics - a unique public-private partnership with SUNY. The School offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Materials Science and Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Glass Engineering Science, Biomaterials, Mechanical and Renewable Energy Engineering. 

Candidates with expertise in the fields of ceramic processing, characterization of oxide materials, high-temperature and/or hypersonics materials, ceramic biomaterials, computational materials ·science, and advanced ceramic manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
