Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our rapidly growing organization. The primary responsibility of the Indirect Tax Manager is to ensure compliance with US indirect tax laws, including sales and use taxes, property tax, gross receipts taxes, excise taxes, annual reports, motor vehicle rental taxes, and other domestic and/or foreign taxes. This role offers a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance for state and local sales, use, and motor vehicle taxes.
• Oversee the filing and payment of real and personal property tax assessments.
• Collaborate with external advisors to minimize property tax assessments.
• Implement a sales tax engine calculator and integrate it with the POS system.
• Conduct technical research to determine the taxability of goods and services offered.
• Act as the main point of contact for the business development team on tax issues related to new branch openings.
• Lead the Sales and Use Tax Senior Analyst in completing monthly tax compliance and payments.
• Manage new and ongoing state and local tax audits.
• Handle other ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of US indirect tax experience; a mix of private and public accounting is preferred.
• CPA/CMI certifications are a plus.
• Strong project management skills with experience in meeting deadlines and prioritization.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage various deadlines and tax priorities.
